Getting lost in a sea of ruffles, exposed shoulders, and gingham? Need some clarity and style inspiration? Check out some funky (and on trend) styles to wear this summer that have been curated by our good friend Hannah Warner.
Outfit 1: Forever 21 has the best shoes that you won’t feel guilty tossing at the end of summer. They are on trend and cheap! And even though the ripped-bottom jean thing is a little over done, it's still a great way to dress up your plain blue jeans. This summer I have gone a little over board with the whole scrunchie/hair accessories trend and free people is the best place to get on board. But, If you aren’t into scrunchies (like me) you can always tie a scarf around your head like a headband for another unique hair accessory look. This outfit is perfect for a lunch with friends and a glass of rosé!
Outfit 2: This summer, I have been obsessed with layering shirts under dresses and tanks. This Wilfred one is perfect because it's a tight bodysuit that won’t bunch up underneath. I used to really hate polka dots but they are everywhere this summer and I finally succumbed to the trend! Plus, they go perfect with my round sunglasses. These slightly platform sneakers are great to wear with dresses and make the look more casual and wearable. I added a white bag to bring in the t-shirt and sneaks all together! This outfit is great for for a day in the city.
I chose this look because it is a fresh take on the Canadian Tux (denim on denim). All white denim is much more summery and looks very clean. I put these denim pieces together because the buttons are almost identical and when I button the jacket up they really look like a set. This backpack is one of my favorites right now because the burnt red velvet can be worn any season and the gold hardware is easy to match to other pieces. I added the western belt and shoes as well because they add contrast and are very matchy-matchy! This outfit is amazing from day to night and can be worn from dinner to the bar!
